I love the idea that images can tell stories as a universally understood language. Creating beautiful frames with a group of people to tell a meaningful story is one of the greatest feelings in the world to me. Shortly after graduating I quickly found myself working on a set as a PA. After learning how to get coffee orders like no one you've ever seen I eventually transitioned to the camera department. From there I have worked on 100's of sets, from 3-4 crew doc style shoots, to 100+ crew for national spots. Episodic shows traveling the south telling real peoples stories, to run and gun on a beach capturing nesting sea turtles. I quickly learned that being a DP was more than creating incredible images. It involves managing a set and a crew, working within a budget, communicating effectively with the director, department heads, and client. Maintaining a schedule while solving problems. All while keeping a positive energy as you overcome the unique obstacles that every set encounters. I love the challenge of managing all of that, while still having a great time with the team to create beautiful imagery that tell meaningful stories.
